Bankruptcy professionals employed at the expense of a debtor’s estate have duties that go beyond the Rules of Professional Conduct.  Failing the duty to properly disclose is a sin bankruptcy courts find hard to forgive.  The panel will analyze a number of recent cases where the sin of nondisclosure has been exposed and various punishments administered, and discuss where the professionals and the courts should have drawn the line.  In addition to addressing issues that are important to everyone’s practice, the program offers an opportunity to obtain 1 of the 4 needed hours of Legal Ethics CLE credit (this may be of particular interest to those in “Group 3” – i.e., with last names ending in N–Z).
